Hell of a Summer
The Boromar Clan is a halfling family and one of the most powerful criminal organizations in Khorvaire. The Boromar Clan’s sinister influence pervades much of the once-imperial city. Its members bribe City Guard captains on the walls, negotiate protection fees from scions of the Dragonmarked Houses outside Trades Ward, and blackmail powerful families of Sea Ward. All the while clinking glasses and sipping fine wine among the city’s elite.
The Boromar Clan is the single most powerful criminal organization in Throneport. From a humble start as a gang of smugglers and thieves out of Estaby, the Boromars have risen to become one of the most influential forces in the city.
The Boromars have a stranglehold on Estaby and own the most gambling halls in the city of any single group. Most of the fences and thieves in the city either work directly for the Boromars or pay tribute in exchange for independence. They control a vast network of extortion, blackmail, and graft.
But their influence reaches far beyond the criminal underworld. The early Boromar patriarchs invested wisely over the centuries, and today the Boromars are one of the Sixty families of Sharn, the most influential ruling families within the vast city.
The Boromar Clan owns many of the warehouses in Dock Ward. It owns taverns and inns throughout the city, and has a considerable interest in the shipping trade. There’s a Boromar on the Stewards Council. The Boromars have close ties by marriage to the local branch of House Jorasco. Boromars can be seen at every city gala.
The Boromar Clan employs people of all races, but the inner circle of the organization is comprised almost exclusively of halflings.
